In April of 2007, our good friend Kathy Romano decided that she wanted to cut her hair and donate it to the charity Locks of Love. So after some brainstorming together we decided that maybe some other people might be interested in joining us. So one day Kathy mentioned it on the air to her listeners and the rest is history. Now every year the team at Gravity heads down to The Preston and Steve show to cut tons of hair and have a great time doing it. Last year Gravity Salon teamed up with Salon Fiber to cut 10inches off of over 70 people. From ages 6 to 60, people from all over the area come to donate their hair and enjoy the morning with Preston and Steve and their hilarious crew. Locks of Love is a charity that makes wigs for children who have different kinds of ailments that cause them to lose there hair such as Alopecia or cancer. If this is an event you might like to participate in please email us at gravityhair@gmail.com for more info.
What Women Want Event

This is an event that is just for the ladies. Last March, Gravity teamed up with Pure Spa , and Gant Financial Inc. and collaborated on a free seminar that is geared to help women better there lives in different areas. Last years focus was on Wealth, Health and Beauty. The event was held at the Act II Playhouse and allowed local businesses to showcase themselves on how their business could help women improve there lives. Delicious food and drinks were provided by Ambler's own Trax and Dettera restaurants. This is a great excuse to get mom and daughter or girlfriends together to enjoy some quality time and also maybe learn something that may someday better your lives. All proceeds went to benefit the Maddie Dixon House. Last years event was a big hit and we only hope for better things next year.
Cocktails for a Cure

October as everyone knows is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So for the second straight year Gravity did something to try and make a difference in the fight to stop Breast Cancer. On October 3rd we threw a party that we called Cocktails for a Cure. Over 60 people came all with the same goal, raise as much money as possible and have a great time while doing it. Bridgets Steakhouse donated their fabulous food and drink for every one to enjoy and many great gifts were donated for raffle. The party was a huge success, over $2500 was raised for the Susan G. Komen fund and everybody had a great time doing so. Gravity’s own Lisa Kaub and her team “Life is Good Again” raised over $12,000 towards the fund. We are so proud of them for this great accomplishment. |
